The ultimate design challenge of this period is to avoid or minimalize the diverse impact of all the designs on the environment. Like all the challenges, this constitutes both demand and an opportunity to steer the debate on more sustainable pattern of production and consumption.
Today’s workspace design is increasingly characterized by a greater ecological awareness as seen in the optimization of materials and alternate energy systems of work included.
In short, MOVING COMMERCE TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY is a new business perspective.
It defines sustainable production and consumption as involving business, government communities and household contributing to environmental quality through efficient production and use of natural resources, the minimization of waste and optimization of product and services.
With these considerations we came to a conclusion that with the design which is the portable one- person office a lightweight wood plastic composite shell (recycled material) and desktop sit foldable anodised aluminium legs with neat stowaway compartments in hinge up cover. It is ideal for setting up and folding away in small urban flats or anywhere. The range of different folded shelf units can be combined to form bespoke shelving combinations. The minimalistic approach produces very durable, easy to maintain shelving. This design is paradigm shift offering the user a chance to interact and design his/ her space and offer economical, rational and emotionally satisfying way of living in small spaces. The definition of a “going to work” continues to evolve, and might just mean something totally different for tomorrow!
